After the overhal in 1880, it was not for another 60 years of the Republic of China that it was presided over by the well-known architect, Han Baode. It was hailed as a classic in the traditional architectural world of Taiwan. Pingtung College was listed as a three level monument in the 74th year of the Republic because of its historical and cultural value. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Taiwan had a large number of college buildings, however only 12 were listed as monuments. In the south of Taiwan, Pingtung College is one of 2 monuments. The other is Fengyi Academy in Kaohsiung.

Lighting Design

The landscape lighting combines lanterns and garden lights to achieve the overall ambience of the area. The front bamboo garden is illuminated by flood lights which makes for a beautiful display in the night time scenery. Int order to harmonise with the antique environment of the Pingtung Academy, our lighting team design a landscape light with an exposed rusted finish with an etched out shape of the Pingtung Academy. The lampshade is equipped with a semi-transparent lamp with a sodium lamp source, providing a warm colour of light. A warm rendering of the beatuy at Pintung Academy at night.
