Bridge Lighting Design｜Hengyang Bridge, Chiayi City

Location

The Hengyang Bridge crosses the east-west district od Chiayi City, running from Chiayi High-Speed Rail to Chuiyang Road. With a total length of 800 meters, it crosses YouzhongRoad, Bo'ai Road and the Western Transverse Railway, saving time for commuters coming from the High-Speed Rail into the city center.

The completion time took 3 full years between early planning and its opening. A variety of construction methods were implemented, as well as a large number of machines and hard labour to finish the bridge on schedule. Together with the lighting show design, the bridge is used effectively to minimise traffic during the day while also becoming a sightseeing spot during the night.

Lighting Design

Rooster Lighting has invested in the project with the lighting design, to be a part of the meaningful traffic improvement project in Chiayi City. The lighting transforms the steel structure bridge into a gorgeous and amazing sight seeing spot for Chiayi city during the night time. The RGB lamps are positioned underneath the steel structure and use a variety of different colours for special symbolic meaning on weekdays, public and national holidays. This lighting philosophy connects the bridge with the people throughout the whole year.
