Public Art Lighting - Green Energy - Stealth City Jungle Chameleon 2013 / 11

Green Chameleon

In Kaohsiung City's art district, extends the old railway area of Hama Star. The vast railway was once an important transportation hub for Taiwan, however is now home to many large scale art projects and sculptures, attracting visitors and tourists to the area. in 2013, 2 large sculptures made from green planting were added in the shape of chameleons. The initial design had glowing eyes, however during the installation process it was discovered that the irrigation system would cause the lamps to fail. Rooster Lighting was appproached to install the sollar brick in place of the chameleon's eyes. During the day time the transparency of the solar brick glass is like the white eyes of the chameleon, and at night time they light up like a big monster hidden in the jungle. Visitors of the sculpture come and visit with unbelievable surprise and wonder.

Rooster Lighting combines their understanding of green energy technology and lighting expertise to design the solar-brick tile light. The product is designed for sustainable impact through solar power without external wiring and is easy to install anywhere.

Strength

The one-piece borosilicate glass can withstand high pressures and resistance to corrosion. The high transparency of the glass enhances the product's light quality.

Light Art

The design team at Rooster Lighting believe that using LED colour technology in combination of the crystal clear glass, can bloom with fun colours and charm the night time landscapes.
