Bridge Lighting Design｜Pingtung New Landmark - "Wan Nianxi Landscape Bridge"

The Wannianxi Landscape Bridge in Pingtung County has attracted much attention through its construction phase over 21 months. In its completion it has gathered even more attention with the smooth and creative lighting design over the white bridge. The bridge is an important landmark as it crosses Pingtung Freedom Road, Wannianxi and Zili Road as well as the labor parks and Wannian Park either side, allowing the safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists in this busy intersection. The bridge is 254.7 metres in length and varies between 2 metres and 8 metres in length. Those walking and riding on the bridge can enjoy the fascinating view of the Wannian River as well as the new and improving landscape of Pingtung City. The bridges design consists of steel which curves across the river. The special design of the bridges canopy has a double meaning for rememberence of ancestors' hard work and the new thriving lifestyle in Pingtung City. (Image Source: Pingtung County Government)
Lighting Design
In the opening ceremony of the area, Pingtung's new landmark, the Wannianxi Bridge is the main attraction. The "Million Starlight" Lighting Party was held and the County Magistrate Cao Qihon led the people to walk onto the bridge to enjoy the nightime scenery of the riverside waterfall and the full-colour lighting display of LED's installed oll over the bridge. With a total of 608 full-colour LED spotlights and 8 sets of projection lights, Rooster Lighting's design team was able to romanticise the the landscape with 6 wonderful lighting themes. Some of these themes included the sprawling of pink and white lights on the belly of the bridge to symbolise the romantic style of Pintung, the colourful displays of light to symbolise the diversity of Pingtung's humanities, the ceiling of white and blue light to represent the sky, and the red waves of light on the bridges belly to display the passionate side of Pintung.
