Bridge Lighting Design｜Xinwei Landscape Bridge｜Flying Purple Butterfly

Location

The Xinwei Landscape Bridge is located on the banks of the Chongli River, between the Liugui Bridge and the Dajin Bridge. The brige is mainly used to connect traffic between Kaosiung Mino, Liugui, Gaoshu, Dajin and Pingtung County, shortening traffic time by up to 30 minutes. The design of the bridge adopts an externally inclined steel arch, which is specially integrated into the local ecological characteristics of the area. Rooster Lighting has purposely designed the lighting to embody the theme of the purple butterfly which flies in the area each winter.

Lighting Design

Rooster Lighting uses DMX controllable RGB lights and flood lights to illuminate the Xinwei Bridge in the night. The combination of local culture, nature and ecology was the inspiration of the lighting design. At night the bridge illuminates and performs to resemble flying butterflies, and a variety of colour and fruits. The impact of artificial light on the environment has also been considered in the lighting design. The control system operates in two modes including a timed performance and an energy saving mode to help conserve the power.
