Bridge Lighting Design｜The "Eye of Gangshan" Sky Corridor

Location

Gangshan Eye Park is located in the Xiaogang Mountain, at the junction of Gangshan District and Yanchao District. The area is surrended by green space, covering an area of 1.8 hectares. The park's prominent feature is its sky corridors. The main tower, designed in the shape of a classical violin, has a height of 41 meters with a corridor spanning across 88 meters. Ascending the sky corridor is like walking through the clouds with a wide panoramic view overlooking the Agongdian reservoir and the Agongdian Creek and fields. The theme of the corridor is music with its steel cables symbolising the violin strings, and the accompaning sound of the natural wind.

Lighting Design

Walking above the clouds at the "Eye of Gangshan" Sky Corridor is both a visual and auditory spectacle. The visual design of the skywalk resembles that of classical instrumentation; piano, violin and harmonica. The role of lighting design plays a crucial role in transforming the space into one which romanticsies these themes. The white glow beneath the walkway reners the impression of a piano key and the head of the violin skytower and steel string construct is colourfully illuminated with RGB lighting.
