Linkou to Dinghu Power Cable Tunnel Lighting

The 16th Public Works Gold Award - Linkou to Dinghu Power Cable Lighting 2017 / 7

In order to improve the power supply capacity and quality of power to the northen region, Rooster Lighting has cooperated with the renovation and expansion project of the Linkou Power Plant to the Dinghu Power Line Cable Tunnel. These cables run at 345KV. The project's challenging BIM introduction was a challenge to measure and construct however the result holds high standards for longterm engineering quality and industrial safety. Built in collaboration with a local Taiwanese construction team the project has won the 16th Public Project Gold Award which is of great affirmation to our expertise in lighting for all kinds of projects.

Lighting Design

The lighting plan extends a length of 17.5KM inside the existing cable tunnel with a confined cylindrical space. The project's lighting had to meet the horizontal illuminance CNS Working standards. Our installation of energy saving T5 2x28W lamps have an IP65 rating and helped provide the appropriate amount of light for the three main sections of the tunnel. These sections were the Electrical room with an average illuminance of 200Lux, the connecting section with an average illuminance of 50Lux and the general section with an average illuminance of 15Lux. Our lighting helped to provide a comfortable working encironment for the Taipower engineers.
