Field background
In order to provide clean water for people's livelihood and improve the sanitary environment, in 1897, WK Burton, the sanitation engineering consultant of the Taiwan Governor's Office, and his student and assistant Hamano Yashirō conducted a survey of water sources and water quality in Tainan, and began to build Tainan Waterways in 1912. It used gravity drainage to provide daily water for urban residents in Tainan. The construction period lasted for 10 years and was completed and put into use in 1922. It retired in 1982 due to the completion of Wushantou Reservoir, Zengwen Reservoir and Tanding Water Purification Plant. The overall architectural and spatial form is very distinctive. It was designated as a county historic site in 2002 and a national historic site in 2005. In 2011, the Tainan City Government began a restoration project for the historic site and combined it with the former Agricultural Bureau Nursery to plan it into the "Tainan Mountain Garden" "Waterway Museum" was officially opened to visitors in 2019.
The Garden Waterway Museum on the Hill includes a museum area and a purification pool area about one kilometer apart. The museum area has national monuments such as the "Quick Filter Room" in Building A, the "Quick Filter Room/Office" in Building B, and the "Sending Pump Room" in Building C, as well as the Hamano Yashiro Monument and rare and rich forest features; the Purification Pool Area is It includes "Purification Pool", "Water Measuring Room", "Purification Pool Trail" and bat ecology, etc., which combines cultural and ecological leisure education.

Lighting design
The Tainan Mountain Garden Waterway Museum was formerly the Tainan Mountain Water Purification Plant and the original Tainan Waterway. In order to create the nighttime glory of this historical monument of great significance to people's livelihood and bring visitors a relaxing atmosphere, the landscape from the entrance to the museum area The trail is equipped with warm-colored full-circle landscape high lights. In addition to providing bright safety lighting, strolling along the trail is like walking into a time corridor with long history, guiding people to century-old historical buildings and leisurely wandering in the beauty of ancient times.
Rooster Lighting uses its rich lighting experience to carefully design lighting that fits the historical charm, taking visitors on a journey through time and space through the charm of light.
