Field background

The renovation of Wannian Park in Pingtung began in 2019. Through the ingenuity of the design unit, the live water of Wannian Creek was introduced and combined with a solar water circulation system, allowing Wannian Park to become a natural environmental education field and a waterfront park with urban flood detention space. The Water Conservancy Department of Pingtung County Government stated that during the Wannian Park renovation, solar power generation equipment was installed. With the warm sunshine in the south, green energy is used to drive the water pumping equipment, and the water source of Wannian Creek is pumped into the park, through filter barrels, sand settling Pools, floating plant purification pools, cascading waterways, gravel waterways, etc. use layers of ecological engineering methods to purify water quality and create high-quality natural ecological waters. Finally, they return to the Wannian River, so that water resources can circulate endlessly. Achieve the effect of environmental creation and water quality treatment. After Wannian Park is opened for use, we hope that citizens and friends can jointly maintain and cherish this high-quality leisure environment space, and look forward to the completion of the renovation of Fuxing Park in the near future. After the overall plan is completed, we will combine the park and water environment space to establish In the field of environmental education, water purification functions and urban flood detention space are added to provide the city with more water environment, which helps to adjust the microclimate, cool down the city, and improve climate change adaptation. Let the park become a diverse and complex spatial environment, give urban parks a new look, reshape the connection between people and water, provide citizens with a high-quality rest environment, and make Pingtung City take another big step towards becoming an ecologically sustainable and livable city.
