THE EXISTENCE OF A BETTER LIFE IN THE CITY - KAOHSIUNG MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

Field background

Introduction to the park The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts is located in Gushan District, referred to as Gaomei Museum. It was originally the Neiweipei Wetland full of ponds. After it was founded as the first public art museum in southern Taiwan in 1983, it has become the most important modern art and culture center in the southern region. The hub plays the important role of bringing together local and international resources and displaying art and humanities.

Gaomei Pavilion uses a four-story main building as the exhibition hall, which is divided into four floors above ground and two floors underground. Together with the children's art museum and the sculpture park, they together form the "Neiweipi Cultural Park", covering an area of 41 hectares. It is a comprehensive leisure park integrating art, culture, creativity, ecology and education.

The main building of the Gaomei Pavilion is designed with space units based on different functions, including the front hall of the exhibition area, the sculpture hall, 16 exhibition rooms, 2 multi-purpose rooms, public activity areas, art research rooms, lecture halls, art resource classrooms, etc. There are also spaces such as administrative areas and collection rooms, with independent entrances and exits, making it easy to manage by zones. This is a major feature of the space. The "Children's Art Museum" and "Children's Art Garden" designed specifically for children emphasize children's art education and active learning, providing children with more places to discover, explore, and experience art experiences. The Gaomei Museum combines the setting of an art park to provide the public with a diversified living area where people can enjoy a rich plant ecology all year round, integrating art, culture, leisure and ecology.

Lighting design

In response to the "Transformation and Rebirth", the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts began a seven-month renovation period in 2020 and reopened in January 2021. With the vision of "the art museum as the presence of a better life in the city", Rooster Lighting cooperated with the construction team for After the transformation and rebirth, the Gaomei Pavilion carefully provides park night lighting equipment that meets the design requirements to create a comfortable and high-quality light environment. The color temperature of the lamps is also selected according to the different activity spaces, and three light temperatures of low, medium and high are set to create different lighting atmospheres such as bright, comfortable and warm, while also meeting the safety illumination requirements.

The setting of glare-type Simple high lamps (EN10A) and low lamps (BA27) effectively guides light to the ground and creates block lighting. The installation of linear lights (QT25) on steps and railings creates strip-like light. The lights intertwined through surfaces and lines not only provide pedestrian safety lighting and enhance the lighting quality, but also create a warm and relaxing atmosphere through the selection of low color temperature. Lighting atmosphere.

In the open spaces of squares and corridors, relatively bright and clean linear projection lamps (GF11) are used to provide medium and high color temperature light to increase the lighting brightness requirements for leisure sports, reading and other related activities.
