2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung | Donggang Town Light Box Theater
Light box theater
The Donggang Theater once existed on Chaoyang Street in Donggang. In the old days, theater viewing was an important form of leisure and entertainment. However, with the evolution of the times, the theater has disappeared from the daily life of Donggang. A performance that combines technology and art. A square box is arranged and penetrated, using light mapping technology, and the use of light to create a three-dimensional square box sculpture, presenting the beauty of the past, present and future in one performance. The combination of intervals waiting for the light sculpture show to appear transforms the light box theater into an interactive installation art with visitors. People will upload the camera shots entering the front edge of the box to the light box to leave a special moment.
Light sculpture design
LIGHT ARTWORKS, the projection mapping brand team of Ayam Lighting, used boxes and projection techniques to present a mapping show at the 2019 Taiwan Light Sculpture Donggang local characteristic elements. Because the light circle is well controlled by the light environment, we can only use two 5,000 lumen projectors and configure a customized mapping system to complete the projection stand setup. At the same time, our same system integrates the interactive function of preemptively uploading to the light box. County Magistrate Pan Meng'an said that life in Donggang Town is closely related to the ocean, so the town's lighting group is designed with local elements such as the ocean, fishery, and the King's Welcome Ceremony as its design concepts. It is the most core and down-to-earth lighting area in Donggang. The Yanping Old Street, full of traces of time, is also the highlight of the town’s light district, with the fantastic “Donggang County Hall”, “Light Box Theater” and “Flying Threads” and other light arts created for the old street.
During the 2019 Screen East Lantern Festival, the projection mapping show was inspired by the local characteristic elements of Donggang on the cube. We incorporate interactive features to give visitors a special moment during their visit.
