2013 Wanjin Christmas Light Sculpture Show

In 2013, the Wanjin Christmas Season event introduces the first light sculpture show to Taiwan. Using the oldest god in Taiwan, the Madonna is transformed into a canvas with themes of Christmas. It is Rooster Lighting's mission to bring the Wanjin Christmas to life with new lighting technology and excellence in lighting planning.

Lighting Design

The technology used for the first time at the Wanjin Christmas Season event has in fact been used in foreign countries for a long time. Time is spent crafting the animation script as well as the characters, and calculating the animation to fit the building.

How long does it take to create the light sculpture show? After the script was finalised, The team of Rooster Lighting worked around the clock 7 days a week. A total of 168 hours for the 60 second animation and light carving calculation

In the spirit and service of the local manufacturers, Rooster Lighting also teamed up with professional engineers and technicians from Australia. The Rooster Lighting technician and Australian technician spend the morning to discuss the installation with the Pastor and set up the rig in the right position to match the aniumation to the contour of the building. The animation included the cultural characteristics of Wanjin and Christmas Season. Rooster Lighting has demonstrated that the use of projection lighting technology and animation is a new and more sustainable alternative to traditional pyrotechnics / fireworks. Not only can the lighting technology be reused, it is also cheaper and is more spectacular as the lighting fits perfectly on the building or sculpture.

An even more special treat to the light show was the collaboration with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra who tailor fit music to match the lighting show in a synchronising manner. The heart of Rooster Lighting is to create and auditory and visual feast.
